Ray Mahaffey grew up in a household with deaf parents, an experience that shaped his sense of responsibility, resilience, and determination from an early age. With a strong interest in psychology and a desire to build a meaningful professional career, Ray enrolled at Midtown University of California to pursue his bachelor’s degree.
Financial limitations initially made higher education difficult to afford. After joining MTUC, Ray applied for the High Achiever Scholarship based on his strong academic record. Following a review of his previous academic performance, he received financial support that helped him continue toward completing his bachelor’s degree.
During a career fair organized by Midtown University of California, Ray connected with professional opportunities in the psychology field and later began working at a psychological clinic. This experience strengthened his commitment to both his career and continued education.
Motivated by his academic progress and the support he received from faculty, Ray decided to continue his studies at MTUC by pursuing a master’s degree. His strong performance during his bachelor’s program also helped him qualify for further scholarship consideration.
While continuing to work, Ray remained focused on advancing his education and pursuing his long-term academic goals. Today, he is continuing his journey toward a Ph.D. at Midtown University of California, building on the knowledge, experience, and determination that have shaped his path from the beginning.
